Little Casterton Village Diamond Jubilee Celebration Tolethorpe Park Cricket Club

Sunday June 3rd

On Sunday 3rd June the Village of Little Casterton, in conjunction with Tolethorpe Park Cricket Club, are holding a Diamond Jubilee Celebration to celebrate HM Queen Elizabeth II’s 60 years on the throne. The day will start with a celebratory Church Service at 10.00 am in All Saints Church after which a special all-day cricket match between Tolethorpe Park and Motley Crew will start at 1100. Stalls and activities will run from 1 pm through to 4 pm and everyone is welcome to come along for a fun afternoon out.
Villagers are being encouraged to decorate their houses with red, white and blue for the Jubilee Weekend whilst the Cricket Club will decorate the ground which is set behind the main road, where activities will be based. Free Car Parking will be signposted and admission to the event is also free.
Refreshments will be available throughout the day including Burgers etc. from midday. Plans include a Beer Tent, Raffle, various stalls, activities and games for adults and children of all ages. There will be a small display of village history in the Church which will be open all day for viewing. A cake competition is to be run with the two winning cakes being used for the Cricket Tea whilst the remaining cakes will be auctioned off at the end of the afternoon.
Organiser Nick Carr is still looking for more stalls and activities so please contact him at nick@ncarr.wanadoo.co.uk if you would like to be involved. Donations of prizes and items for the Tombola stall would be most welcome.
