No £8,000 Party For Oakham Town Councillor Charles Haworth, Deceiving? Lying? Bully?
The large bully on Oakham Town Councill wanted £8,000 to put on a party in the park
next summer.
Within minutes of the Council adopting the new code of conduct Councillor Charles Haworth breeched it.
Honesty and Respect are a key component of the new code of conduct.
Cllr Haworth breached this code last night, he lied telling members. He said I was wrong to say the Jubilee party went over budget.
The Clerk a big supporter of the old guard took the blame, saying it did go over budget and it was down to his spending and Cllr Haworth the organiser would have not known this. Rubbish is my response.
Cllr Haworth was very disappointed that his fellow members were not going to hand him £8,000 of tax payers money to squander in a fashion that suited him.
He made a very disrespectful and dishonest attempt to obtain funding.
Cllr Guthrie no fool pointed out he was attempting to trick members into believing some money reserved
for signs formed part of the tourism budget. This was confirmed by the Clerk. Cllr Guthrie also pointed out his sums did not add up.
Cllr Jayne Woodcock said we have thanked you for you efforts for the Jubilee party and we don't want it repeated.
Cllr Haworth continued at one point being disregardful to Cllr Dodds, he claimed the party would be different from the Jubilee and there was a urgent need to book big groups like Wrinkle Rock I can't imagine which of his friends might have demanded them again. A Town Council favourite who are paid the most out of all the performers used by the council and often the shortest performances.
Councillor Haworth was very critical of Jubilee sponsors, he went as far as saying some donation were so small he could not do anything with them.
How ungrateful can one be?
Anyway after his terrible act of dishonesty and disrespectful begging performance Cllr Haworth proposed the council gave him a £8,000 budget. this was tuned down
Cllr Haworth once complained about me when I sat at the Council table not wearing a tie and anyone out of work could afford to buy a suit and tie for council meetings. Last night Cllr Haworth was wearing scruffy clothes including a dirty blue t-shirt. I can only imagine he is now starting to suffer from his years of long term unemployment. He now only owns one car so it must be getting tough.
