Oakham Town Council forced to amend audit plan after Cllr Joyce Lucas spent so much on booze for her family and friends.
At this Wednesday's Council meeting Oakham Town Council will be asked to approve a amended Audit Plan for 2012 - 2013
This will include a new section to specifically examine expenditure under the Chaiman's Allowance.
Those of you who follow my blog will know, I published Cllr Joyce Lucas's expenditure during her
term as Mayor / Chairman and a short time after that I was arrested for harassment after she and 7 others connected to the council complained to Leicestershire Police. In the end all charges were rightfully dropped.
But that vindictive group have caused me lasting harm.
Cllr Lucas's Mason / Rotary booze fuelled twit, (husband) did warn me by saying "the ball is in my court" and "believe me the harassment has not even started yet."
Cllr Lucas spent thousands of tax payers money to raise a few hundred for her good cause. By holding a private civic party at Oakham Castle.
In the local press she was quoted as saying "it was a good day for me, my family and friends and Oakham"
The order in which Cllr Joyce Lucas described this goodness, shows her selflessness...
What she meant by Oakham who knows? Oakham residents paid for the fun, which included hundreds of pounds being spent on bnoze and fine chocolate shot glasses.
Looking at the Chairman's payments so far this year Cllr Dewis appears to have not claimed anything.
I wonder if he will be the first Chairman / Mayor not to waste the Oakham tax payers money.
Or is it because he might be able to claim from another of the many organisation he wears a hat for?
To be fair to Councillor Lucas she was only resurrecting an age old tradition of Oakham Town Council.
I remember when Oakham Town Councillor now Rutland County Councillor Mark Woodcock had a civic reception at Victoria Hall, most of his guests were rolling in the road at 1.00am. But that was fine because he told me he personally put half the money behind the bar.
To be honest, I should not be fair to a Councillor who breaches almost every part of the code of conduct
and is permitted to do so because of her husbands power, or is that abuse of power?
