Can a Single Point Of Contact (SPOC) be seen as BULLYING? Rutland County Council. Rutland Anti Corruption Party, Tory Cllrs Relative sacked from Oakham School for Bullying

Can a Single Point Of Contact (SPOC) be seen as BULLYING?

We have written about the three Rutland Anti-Corruption members being put under a SPOC largely by the MAJORITY group, the Conservatives. I believe this is because they do not want to meet us ‘face to face’ to resolve the problems. Is this fear that the full truth will get out? They already have egg on their face for wasting public money employing solicitors to ‘bring us down’ but it failed, it appears to have done the opposite with the amount of support we have received locally and from across the country. The report that was hurriedly prepared has been rubbished by the House of Lords. My firm opinion is that the action was an attempt to bully us but it has done nothing other than make us more determined for the public to have a greater knowledge of the activities of their local authority .
It is becoming worrying that this perceived bullying extends to members of the public too. Three local people have contacted us about being put under a SPOC , telling us it has caused a lot of worry, anguish and frustration. If this is the case, it has to be stopped, NOW.
Bullying is an act of weakness

Richard  Gale asks the question, I answer yes, Helen Briggs appointed me a single point of contact when I was a Oakham Town Councillor. All Rutland County Councillors were instructed to ignore me.
My single point of contact was Geoff Pook who often gives wrong advice.
I first became aware how common the use of single point of contact was when, a member of the public showed me a letter obtained using data protection.
That letter written by Geoff Pook instructed member to treat the woman in the same way as they do me.
That woman no longer lives in Rutland was appointed  a single point of contact Dave Brown, then Head of Highways now Operational Director for Places at Rutland County Council. This single point of contact  was the councils biggest example of bullying.
Often meetings between that woman and Mr Brown  would result  in that woman  leaving the office in tears very traumatic for her. As  a town Councillor I could only offer my time over a cup of coffee if she called.
Fortunately most of us who are bullied by our local governance are much stronger and  fight on.
At the special meeting at held at Rutland County Council I witnessed public bullying of the three Rutland County  Councillor who want to serve our community.
One female Conservative stood up and said she had learnt a lot about bullying from these three members of the anti corruption party. Her mind must be clouded, I learnt today one of her close family members was sacked from Oakham School, for bullying, surely she learnt from him? most of her party members who have insulted me have a link to the same school.
Closet Labour Cllr Alan Walters also included in that sentence.
