Oakham Mayor unhappy with organisation of Oakham Bandstand Summer Concerts

Oakham Mayor unhappy with organisation of Oakham Bandstand Summer Concerts

At this weeks Town Council  meeting Oakham Mayor Adam Lowe will be raising the issue
of failings relating to the summer band concerts. Organised by the Tourism and Promotion Working Group.

The group is headed by a councillor who I can not name for legal reasons and Cllr Joyce Lucas.
If the group spent more time carrying out their role instead of spending most of there time attacking
me http://oakhamslaughingstocks.blogspot.co.uk/2010/04/public-laughing-stock.html then maybe we
would not have to wait one month between the first and second concert.

It would have been good, if they had gone out and found some new performers instead of
sticking to the same old group and bands of previous years.

Cllr Lowe says in his report:

Band Concerts are a key element of the Council's Current Service.

Previously the clerk has arranged the bands, payments and advertising.

This year the Promotions Working Group took over that responsibility,
The first concert was not advertised and even some Cllrs were uncertain of dates,
band names and start times.

Saying all this Cllr######## (if you want to know the name of this Councillor ask the Clerk for the agenda Appendix D although it is a public document I can not publish due to Leicestershire Police's interference in local politics) has put together a very good selection and the first concert was well attended given the lack of advertising.

The Mayor is suggesting the responsibility of organising the summer concerts is returned to the Clerk.

And I say it about time some of these  nasty vile bullying Councillors resigned! So the seats can be filled
with less egotistic people who really want what's best for our community.

I am hoping the government audit of Oakham parish council will have the same result as this one.

Kirby Muxloe Parish Council

Please be aware that at the Council meeting of the 6th June, all six of the Councillors present resigned their seats.
Consequently Blaby District Council will use its special power under the Local Government Act 1972 Section 91 to appoint temporary councilors pending new elections which will be held as soon as possible.
The Clerk is maintaining the office systems and has been given some temporary professional support to ensure continuity.
More information will be posted as it becomes available.

Something is wrong when Oakham parish council that costs a fortune can say publicly a few summer band concerts are one of their key services and they squander a quarter of last years income setting friends up in
business (the gym)
