Rutland County Councils Pointless Tweeting Council Tax Freeze

Rutland County Councils Pointless Tweeting Council Tax Freeze

Rutland County Council tweets for input from residents, after Tory Leader Roger Begy speaks to the
local press.

Rutland County Council are never interested in what the public view is on any subject.
they do as they please.

I am sure in this case the public won't mind that the countries highest council tax won't increase for the next
year and we all know that it won't increase before 2016. That is due to the deal with central government.
If councils took the first grant they agreed not to increase throughout this current term, but every year this rotten Tory council turns to the local press as if it has achieved some mystical happening with the finances.

Reading Roger Begy's comments in the paper, it is clear there has been a complete failure. The council
has eaten into its reserves, millions have been spent from its reserves, which now stand at 8 million back in 2010 the official figure was near 10 million. This loss despite savage cuts to public services and community grants.

Of course in 2015 the Tories will tell us its all been a great success.

Cllr King will harp on about his prison purchase which cost millions and has resulted in four
tenants taking up space, at the newly named Oakham Business Park.

MP Alan Duncan speaking in the New Year on Rutland Radio, said we should be grateful for our County Councillors who volunteer their time. There is nothing voluntary about their time they are paid a substantial
allowance and fight for extra cabinet responsibilities to boost the cash pot.

Tory Roger Begy rakes in over £20,000 a year a nice little voluntary reward!
