Cllr Stan Stubbs, Cllr Dewis, Oakham Town Council, Co-option

Cllr Stan Stubbs:

Since publishing below and suggesting that Cllr Stubbs could be clone of Cllr Alf Dewis, I have learnt this is true, he is ignorant and rude and has built a relationship so close to Dewis he pratically sits on his knee like ventriloquist dummy at council meetings looking at him for approval, thats when he is not pointing to his watch and grunting like a wild animal durring public deputations.

I have put in an application to be co-opted onto the Town Council and I will have to sit an interview in front of them both!  they don't scare me, I don't expect to be co-opted it's very undemocratic and why should two bullies like Dewis and Stubbs decide who serves the people of Oakham?

Dewis licks Helen Briggs Boots Conservative CEO Rutland County Council So I can not see how I am going to get a fair chance. I am surprised they did not give the job to Lucas and Haworth!

Cllr Stubbs past shows he is not fit to decide who serves om our council, he exagerated his past on the Town Councils web site, I raised this with the Town Clerk who's family are friends of Cllr Stubbs and his family. He responded by telling me he made a few mistakes which had been corrected. I say lies!

He made mistakes on his election leaflet and his communcation with the Rutland Times.

Oakham Town Councillor, Stan Stubbs, told us days before the election via Rutland Times he had previously been an Wiltshire County Councillor?

Friday, September 06, 2013

Newly elected Oakham Town Councillor Stan Stubbs told us days before the election he had previously been an Wiltshire County Councillor.
I could find no record of this, so I contacted the Wiltshire County Council to find they don't have any records or recollection of him ever being a County Councillor.
I contacted the parish council he suddenly resigned from after causing a big stink  with the county council. That time his conduct had clearly caused his Tory friends a problem and they could hardly give him a slap on the wrist like they did previously when the standards committee found him guilty of using his position for personal gain.
The Clerk replied wanting to know if I am press?
Stan Stubbs was chairman of Newton Tony Parish Council and was Chair of the local Bourne Valley Alliance he resigned both under a cloud.
Stan Stubbs was an independent member of the Northern Area SWAG grant review panel.

Yogalingam Dayanamby Labour Candidate defrauded Harrow Council

http://www.iharrow.com/2014-elections/canons/dayanamby-yogalingam/

Susan Hall, leader of Harrow Council, said: “Since 2010, residents in two different wards in Harrow have suffered the embarrassment of seeing their Labour councillors receive cautions and criminal convictions for the possession of indecent images of children and fraud, so at least there can be a degree of relief that this was discovered before the election.

"I'm sure residents will make up their own minds about how it reflects on Labour to have someone who has defrauded the council and therefore taxpayers standing as a candidate.

"Labour talked tough on benefit fraud when they were in power; will they now denounce one of their own?”

Harrow Labour have previously booted their Harrow on the Hill ward councillor David Gawn, now an independent, after he admitted attempting to cash two cheques totalling £10,000 from multiple sclerosis sufferer Dennis O'Brien to pay bills racked up by his company Community Arts and Media.

Sir Norman Bettison and alleged theft/handling of platinum

Sir Norman Bettison and alleged theft/handling of platinum

Sir Norman Bettison and alleged theft/handling of platinum – review of Derbyshire Police charging recommendation, conducted on behalf of South Yorkshire Police

An investigation was undertaken by Derbyshire Police in 2013, at the request of South Yorkshire Police (SYP), into the alleged theft and handling of a quantity of platinum by Sir Norman Bettison in 1987. This has been widely publicised. Derbyshire Police recommended to SYP in July 2013 that no further action be taken and subsequently SYP asked the Crown Prosecution Service to confirm this recommendation was correct.

We have completed a fresh review of the evidence and decided that there is insufficient evidence to prosecute. An essential legal element of the alleged offences is that the prosecution must be able to prove that the goods in question were in fact stolen. There was insufficient evidence to establish this and, as such, a prosecution for theft or handling stolen goods is not possible. Should any further evidence come to light, we will, of course, consider it.

This decision was taken in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors.

Oakham Town Council have supported the club in the past.

Rutland County Council has given them a football ground and changing rooms behind Rutland County College based outside Oakham.

They appear to do no fund raising for themselves and appear to lack any visible sponsorship, clearly content with receiving public hand outs running into th ehundred of thousands of  pounds, for a club known and used by so few.

I would disagree and surely he has not missed how much destruction his Tory chum at Peterborough City

Oakham One Million Pound Bus Shelter to Open Next Week, Bus services in Oakham are returning to normal next week

Rutland County Council has announce that from the 6th May 2014 Bus stop will return to John Street.

Possible the countries most expensive bus shelter with attached disabled toilet will ve officially opened the next day 7th May 2014.

I look forward to seeing who the council has dragged into town to open it. I guess it will be a famous Minister just like the official launch of the under used Shorelink tourist bus which is also  funded by the Department for Transport.

Maybe the Rutland Conservative can drop the 2007 Oakham bypass from there boring election leaflet and mention this costly projecct as one of their recent success stories.

Oakham Town Council Continue To Pay For Church Clock, Stating There Are No Other Clocks Visible to the Public in Town.

There law states a Parsih Council can fund its local church clock.

All Saints Church is not central and other church demonitions receive no support from the Town Council, All Saint's Church does rather well even receiving free bedding plants a few times each year.

What I find strange is not the payments, but the fact local Councillors at a recent council meeting stated durring a review of spending and possible cuts, they would continue to provide the church with funding for the clock because there were no others in the town. There are others two are shown below.

Tesco removed a clock some years ago maybe the
town council can fund a replacement.

Bluebells and Wild Flowers at Oakham Sainsburys Site Will Be  Lost for Ever, College Demolition to start soon

This will be the last year for bluebells on the former college site, those I photographed this week will soon vanish under the new tarmac.

Demolition of the old college is soon to start, the contractors not to happy th esite was not secured as any
valuable material such as metal pipes and cables have all been stolen, even the main elctricity cable was ripped up from under the drive.

The contractors told me that bats have been found so that will delay their work, they wont be shot as suggested by Cllr Lockett. The will be moved on lawfully.

Bats have also been found in the properties attached to Lonsdale House.

Devolopers Contributions For More School Places, Doctors, Police?

Why is the Tory Leicestershire Police and Crime Commissioner not complaining about the low
contributions from developers like the companies chaired and owned by the Tory Leader of Peterborough
City Council. Sir Clive Loaded recently complained and threatened legal action because he was only to receive £2,000,000 from a developer in Leicester.

Leicestershire Police only receive small amounts from developments in Oakham and Rutland and that never seems to bother him?

At the weekend I was told certain Rutland Tory Councillors sit on committees and various organisations along with the Leader of a City Council and they may not declare these interests when planning applications are considered by Rutland County Council, surely not?

I was also told a Tory Leader sits a body that has thrown public money at The Tory Deputy Leader of Rutland County Council, Terry King, Prison Site. They suggested quite a cosy relationship might exist, really? I am sure Mr King is already married?

The Conservative Leader of Peterborough City Council Marco Cereste is the Chairman of one of the biggest development companies currently blighting any spare patch of land in and around Oakham at the moment.

Rutland County Council, My God, maybe we should consider actually having a County Council, Beverley Gill, Oakham, Age UK

Rutland County Council, My God, maybe we should consider actually having a County Council, Beverley Gill, Oakham, Age UK

I wonder what filthy images Beverley Gill will receive for this critism of our delighful Conservative Council?

Rutland County Council is aware of the ever increasing older population  here in Rutland but all they do is cut funding of their vital services.

The Council is run by greedy Tory old farts who receive huge allowances and only appear to be interested in money and not the future of Rutland. If we are lucky they wont have to worry about the mess they have created in our county, when they retire in a few years time which they will due to age. Who will look after the older members of our community in a few years time?  where will all the children go to School? because for all the new houses being built by their freindly developers on former school sites or playing fields surely children will appear at some point on these new estates?

Rutland County Council tell us they have no money so why are they not asking for more money from their Tory friend and leader of Peterborough City Council? Other Councils like Leicestershire generate millions from developments like that being imposed on Oakham by the Larkfleet Group which he chairs. Why is Rutland County Council not demanding the same level of contibutions as we have seen recently through complaints from small private devolopers for contributions that are eye watering. Larkfleet give a few thousand pounds here and there for OAKHAM and then just like Sainsbury they are happy for Terry King to spend it outside Oakham on his prison site why?

Rutland County Council Are They Bribing Business With Public Money Not To Set Up in Uppingham and Move to Oakham?

First Cllr Alf Dewis tell us a sucessful Judo Club Chain is receiving a cheap rent to relocate out of Oakham to Deputy Leader of Rutland County Councils Business Park in Ashwell, now this is published on Uppingham First web site.

Call for Investigation

Written by Uppingham on Line

Monday, 28 April 2014 16:43

Members of the Uppingham community have called for an investigation into allegations that a local business which inquired to Rutland County Council about building a new business in the town was advised that planning permission for the venture would be refused but that it could be offered a financial incentive to move to Oakham.

Commenting on the allegation Neighbourhood Plan lead (Cllr) Ron Simpson said, "If this allegation is true it is a very serious matter. I have heard rumours of such offers before, but this is the first example during my time.  Uppingham has a number of sites suitable for such a development. It is entirely inappropriate that public funds be offered as an incentive to divert employment opportunities from Uppingham by an individual  who has the power to influence planning permissions.  I urge the County Council  to arrange an independent investigation into the matter."
