Oakham Town Council Christmas Lights Invoice Reduction or Non Payment Cllr Jayne Woodcock Lite Ltd
Oakham Mayor Cllr Jayne Woodcock is putting some rather daft proposal before Councillors
this Wednesday.
The Council entered into a legally binding contract with Lite Ltd. If you enter into a
contract you can not just ignore the terms.
She should be negotiating with Lite Ltd for a reduction.
You would think this was a new issue for Oakham Town Council and it is there fault
for many years they have been incapable of decorating our town.
I have sat in at Council meetings each year when the Clerk has been complimented
for the costly embarrassment, so I can't blame him and his failings when Councillors
have persistently congratulated him for his poor work.
Its shocking to think Stamford pay the same company the same amount of money and
compared with Oakham the displays are 100% better.
Oakham Town Council also gave a person £60 to straighten the tree before it was
replaced.
The poor decoration of the tree was not the sub contractors fault that was the
town councils, it failed to ensure the contractor was aware of the change date for completion
of installation.
They sub contractor showed me their work plan and Oakham was shown to start the
day of the switch on, So this resulted in the sub contractor carrying out five days work in one day.
