Catmose Primary & Catmose College Parents Furious about 'overpriced' School Uniform Monopoly set up online petition

Catmose Primary & Catmose College Parents Furious about 'overpriced'  School Uniform Monopoly set up online petition

The parents are led by Jon Brackenridge who was recently turned down
for co-option onto Oakham Town Council, because he speaks for the
residents and calls for modernisation of the antiquated town council
He also raised concerns about affordable shops something actually the
council can not do anything about. He mentioned McDonald's  which
caused a stir amongst the old guard.

Jon is hoping to call an election after the resignation of Cllr Blanksby.
I wish him well if he is successful and is elected. I hope he does not
go back on his word and join the club it would be good to have at
least one Cllr on the same side.

Catmose Primary & Catmose College School Uniform price

With the recent school year just beginning uniform needed to be purchased. As there is now only ONE shop in the country that sells Catmose Primary and Catmose College uniform it has limited any competition. On a recent visit to the Shop the price of the uniforms for the schools has increased since it became the exclusive retailer for the uniform. As an example a school jumper for my 4 year old is listed in the store at £17, however there are many other outlets selling school uniform for surrounding schools that are half of this price yet the only difference is the colour of the garment and the logo itself. i have recently looked at Tesco Clothing as they do a school uniform service, with fully embroided garments and there jumpers/cardigans start at £6! so why are we been FORCED to buy from one retailer at such an inflated price, give the current financial climate and the fact the majority of parents have 2+ children in school it is crazy to charge so much and be allowed to continually get away with it. i propose that the school uniform be made available at more outlets especially at retailers such as Tesco and major retailers where costs can be kept low and enable ALL parents the opportunity to buy uniform at a reasonable cost.
Just to add once we have a good number of supporters i will personally be printing this petition off and arranging a meeting with Both headteachers (Mrs Jackson & Mr Williams) i will be raising the above petition and asking for explanations and what the federation plan to do to rectify the situation.
