Why is it When I send a email to Oakham Town council The Council Fail to Respond and Ex Mayor Paul Beech Responds on Facebook
Firstly Mr Beech resigned from the council back in 2007 and according to Mayor Adam
Lowe has been "a small minded outside influence ever since"
My email was sent to council because there is a small amount of confusion as to where to
the money from the illumination ball is going and which organisation will own the lights
It was a simple internal request and the information from my email did not need to be passed
onto Mr Beech who is not a Councillor.
Mr Beech also claims for Rutland in Rutland is a charity the fact is it is not they use
the Citizens Advice Charity Number after myself and other members of the public
pointed out the charity number on their website was fake.
As for the pot of money I suggest Mr Beech looks at the Citizens Advice accounts and see
that they are sitting on many thousands of pounds, so much so the Citizens Advice is
proposing to employ a second adviser to use up the funds.
To sum up For Rutland in Rutland is not a charity it is a hard working fundraising group
who pass on all the money the raise the Citizens Advice who have charitable status.
For Rutland in Rutland deprive McMillan Cancer of many thousands of pounds a year
because they fell out with McMillan when they decided they would no longer fund
the current adviser at the CA.
I hope Mr Beech does enjoy the illumination ball on Saturday at Victoria Hall.
Now I can understand it if somebody gets something wrong because of poor information but this particular person has had it on a first hand basis from day one, so I can only assume he has got it wrong in an attempt to 'scupper' the event because he can't accept that it will be good for the town and he can't see the obvious benefits, because he didn't think about it first.
Let's take his comment about the lights first. He says, and I quote: "Some people I know think the event is being run by the OTP
from comment from a member i think it is.." WRONG AND WHO IS THE MEMBER YOU REFER TO?.
It was the sole idea of a local town councillor from the start because he was fed up with criticism about the lights at Christmas in the town. Guess what, the criticism is from the same person who is now complaining about the event that is also doubled up to support a local charity. So I say to him, yet again, get your facts straight, not that he ever will. If he is so bothered about the lights why doesn't he buy a ticket? Too easy I guess.
He even mentions ownership of the lights after the ball on Saturday. A complete Red Herring and proof that he is now starting to struggle for grounds of complaint.
The next of his issue's is to do with tickets for the event. He says: "A couple of my friends have been told the money is going to the town partnership and they have cancelled there tickets because they are not happy with the way they are treating me...." Who are these people who have cancelled their tickets? Any names? I doubt it.
GROW UP. You bring it all on yourself by being so obstructive and unsociable. That statement is a complete and utter lie - sorry it's untrue for all you PC brigade our there.
For the record folks, it has nothing to do with the Town Partnership and if it did isn't this the sort of event that they would be involved in. No wonder they don't want him on their committee.
Next, for now, there is this statement from him: "Also it is clear to me the so called charity For Rutland in Rutland does not need the money the CA is sitting on thousands of pounds."
For his information it is very disingenuous of him to use the words "....so called charity..." Well buster it is a charity so leave that one alone and it is here in Rutland for us Rutlanders - and believe it or not one day that might include you..
Finally, this person can only criticise and complain. Does he contribute? NO. Does he always find fault? Yes. Will he ever change? No.
I don't know about you but I think the community can do well without those that can only find fault with the good that other people do. Especially when they do it for nothing.
I'll be there to support the town and Rutland on Saturday night and I will enjoy myself regardless of what he might think. Or do.
And three cheers for the organiser.

It has come to my notice, from a legitimate and knowledgeable source, that there is somebody on the town council who is spreading alarm about the charity event to promote funds for new Christmas lights for the town and to raise funds for the charity For Rutland IN Rutland.
