Crescent Bridge Peterborough Cambridgeshire
The bridge was built for the Great Northern Railway
at a cost of £34,000 to replace two troublesome level
crossings and a subway.
It was opened by the Mayoress Mrs J G Bradford
on 16th April 1913,
The original Crescent of 1830s houses was demolished
to make way for the bridge.
The steelwork and main 48.7 metre bow spring and
lattice span was built by Cleveland Bridge and
Engineering Company of Darlington and the bridge
was refurbished in 2001 by Jackson Rail.
