Robert Truscott, 47, of Lowther Close, Langham, Oakham, has been charged with attempted murder of Emma Wolfenden and Section 18 Grievous Bodily Harm and possession of a bladed article.

 

Robert Truscott has been charged after two people were assaulted in Oakham on Thursday (21 January).

Robert Truscott, 47, of Lowther Close, Langham, Oakham, has been charged with attempted murder, Section 18 Grievous Bodily Harm and possession of a bladed article.

He was remanded to appear before Leicester Magistrates’ Court today (Saturday 23 January).

A second man who was arrested in connection with the incident has since been released no further action.

The charges relate to an incident in Bullfinch Close in Oakham during Thursday evening.  The 36-year-old Emma Wolfenden remains in the Queen’s Medical Centre where her condition has been described as critical but stable.

Leicestershire Police contacted me to tell me I had not done

anything wrong by publishing a photo of Emma from my archive.

or even naming her and wishing her well. 

They tell me that some family members objected to me using one of my

images. I hope Leicestershire Police will also be contacting 

all the members of the public who have shared images of Emma on facebook

and wishing her well, I often wonder if they would contact any newspaper 

who chose to report a serious incident in the same legal manner?

A 36 year old Woman stabbed in Oakham Rutland. 2 men aged 25 and 47 have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Video and Photos of Scene

A 36 year old is  woman is critically ill but stable in hospital after being stabbed in Oakham Rutland. 

Police were called to a home on Bullfinch Close in Oakham at around 9.15pm last night. 

Two men aged 25 and 47 have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. 

Bullfinch Close is a nice little established estate in the south of Oakham. All the streets are named after birds. The estate is normally quiet and peaceful.

Today Police and investigators remain in the area and a number of areas are taped off in Bullfinch Close and Leicestershire and Rutland police officers are knocking at doors in the nearby area.

Lets hope this lady makes a speedy recovery, murder in Rutland is very rare.
