A 36 year old is  woman is critically ill but stable in hospital after being stabbed in Oakham Rutland. 

Police were called to a home on Bullfinch Close in Oakham at around 9.15pm last night. 

Two men aged 25 and 47 have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. 

Bullfinch Close is a nice little established estate in the south of Oakham. All the streets are named after birds. The estate is normally quiet and peaceful.

Today Police and investigators remain in the area and a number of areas are taped off in Bullfinch Close and Leicestershire and Rutland police officers are knocking at doors in the nearby area.

Lets hope this lady makes a speedy recovery, murder in Rutland is very rare.


 







Leicestershire Police Statement :

Detectives investigating a stabbing in Rutland have arrested two men in connection with the incident.

Officers and colleagues from the East Midlands Ambulance Service attended an address in Bullfinch Close in Oakham at around 9.15pm yesterday (Thursday 21 January) following a report of a woman stabbed inside the property.

A 36-year-old woman was taken to Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre for treatment. She remains in hospital where her condition is described as critical but stable.

Two men, 25 and 47, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder – they remain in police custody.

Scene preservations remain in place in Bullfinch Close while enquiries continue to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.

Detective Inspector Mark Parish is investigating. He said: “A woman is in hospital undergoing medical treatment and we are determined to find out what happened.

“From enquiries carried out so far we believe an argument took place inside the address and at this stage in the investigation we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.”
