Central England Co-operative, New Food Store, Braunstone Road, Oakham, Rutland

Central England Co-operative, New Food Store, Braunstone Road, Oakham, Rutland

Central England Co-operative created recently by the merger of Midland  Co-op and Anglia Co-op

The Co-op claims to be ethical and green, it no more so than any other business, you only have to look in
the skip to see the visible waste. reals of cable and bags of sand, sheets of MDF and Timber.

The plans show the top of the old pub shell visible from the street?
It is still there but not easilly visible.

I also wonder why they chose to locate the trolley park next to the
windows of homes next door, I can see noise complaints being made.

The old pub sign has come in handy

The retail shell looks almost complete

its hard to imagine this area was once home for a splendid beer
garden full of plants and shrubs.
It never won any awards like another pub which Oakham in Bloom
Chairman Cllr Dodds Drinks in after council meetings before driving
of at speed to her village. *

*she admitted being guilty of put her foot down at a parish forum
meeting.
