Cancer Research UK Opens New Store in Oakham, Rutland, Photos and Video of the grand opening.

Cancer Research UK celebrated the opening of its new store in Oakham today at 10.30 am.

           

Local cancer survivor Steve Bent cut the ribbon, marking a significant milestone for the charity.

The new store represents a relocation for Cancer Research UK within Oakham, moving from the town centre to a larger space at Tungsten Retail Park on Panniers Way, Oakham, Rutland,  LE15 7US.

This spacious superstore offers a wider variety of items for donation and purchase, including:

Electrical items

Clothing

Soft furnishings

Gifts

All proceeds from the store will directly fund vital research into cancer treatments. This research aims to develop gentler and more effective therapies, improving the lives of those battling the disease.

Steve Bent's story serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of Cancer Research UK's work. Diagnosed with cancer eight years ago, Steve is a testament to the progress made in cancer treatment. He is passionate about supporting further research, hoping to ensure even more positive outcomes in the future.

Store manager Fiona Riley expressed her gratitude to Steve for opening the store and highlighted the ongoing need for volunteers and donations. High-quality clothing, shoes, homeware, and books are all welcome contributions to the store's success.

Fiona emphasised, "As Steve's story shows, all money raised is desperately needed to fund crucial research."

The Oakham Cancer Research UK superstore offers convenient shopping hours:

Monday to Saturday: 8.30am - 5.00pm

Sunday: 10.00am - 4.00pm
