Oakham Town Councillor Michael Haley stood for many things
in 2015 when he attempted to get onto Rutland County Council
when that fail he was co-opted onto Oakham Town Council
The leaflet Michael Haley shared with other independent
Councillors was full of lies.
Michael Haley does not represent anyone else apart from
himself and that has become more evident since he was
co-opted onto the council in July 2015
I supported him on the basis of what was said via
his leaflet.
As for being a college lecturer and Academic Manager
unusually I can not find any records of this activity on-line.
Michael has excluded me and other from involvement in our
neighbourhood plan. During a meeting of Oakham Town
Council I asked Michael for better publicity arrangements
for the plan and his recorded response was we don't need to
advertise. We shall see, Michael is aware of what happened
in Melton.
Michael supported our Mayors disgusting comments he made
when leaving a recent meeting at Rutland County Council.
At last weeks council meeting Michael attempted to scrap
public planning meetings. The only member of the council
who supported the setting up of a working group of four
who would meet behind closed doors to consider local planning
applications.
The reason he gave was "during the year I have been a Cllr
I have only seen one member of the public attend their
planning consideration" That is not the point. the point is
Oakham Town Council is meant to represent the residents of
Oakham and listen to them which it is not and has not done so
for many years.
Michael is a control freak who's name pops up on so many
organisations committees in such a short time period.
I am told the Chairman of the Trustee's of Victoria Hall
is not getting on too well, (he is a old Tory)
Michael is not interest in listening to anyone else that includes
residents and other Cllrs.
When ever I speak in his presence he suffers the same huffing
and puffing illness as Cllr Stan Stubbs.
Watching video's of meetings I attend he can be constantly
seen and heard telling the chairman to shut me up.
Looking at the leaflet below the content is not a lot different
from what myself and others have been attacked for raising
over the years.
I don't personally think Michael Haley actually read the leaflet
before it was distributed last year, I believe he just joined the
band wagon just to be elected fortunately he was not.
