Re Jeakins Weir Planning Appeal
If you wrote to Rutland County Council expressing your views to the Jeakins Weir application to build on land to the West of Uppingham Road, Oakham,
You may be interested to know on Tuesday 8 February the council rejected their application, but due to the fact that the application had not been heard within a 13 week period, Jeakins Weir has appealed.
The appeal hearing by the Planning Inspector will be held at the Council offices over four days from the 24 - 27 May.
Judy Geer from Oakham Action asks:
If you are able to attend at any time during these dates (either for a morning or an afternoon) please contact Judy Geer judy@oakhamaction.co.uk ) and she will draw up a rota to ensure we have supporters throughout the hearing.
In addition and as important she would ask you to write in a personal capacity to the Planning Inspectorate, prior to the appeal hearing, making any additional objections you may have regarding the Jeakins Weir proposal. . The deadline for these objections is the 22nd February 2011 and they can be sent quoting the appeal reference APP/A2470/A/10/2143475/NWF either
a) By Email using the online appeals service at www.planningportal.gov.uk/pcs and completing the straightforward form provided or
b) By letter, three copies of which should be sent to The Planning Inspectorate, 3/02 Kite Wing, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Temple Quay, Bristol BS1 6PN
Some objection points you may wish to raise in addition to those objections already sent in are:
The fact that the Hawksmead Development has now been approved and therefore the 5-year housing supply requirement is secured.
That RAF Cottesmore and Ashwell Prison will now play a part in the future development plans for Rutland and Oakham by providing potential brownfield sites.
That building houses on this greenfield site would destroy a beautiful area of Oakham forever.
Any other objections that you did not use.
