Terry Wogan Last Day at Radio 2

Sadly Terry Wagon has passed away, long before the days of commercial radio
and Breakfast Television, Terry Wogan could be heard coming from the speakers
in our home each morning as all were preparing for school. If we were home
during the school holidays we would listen to the end of the show when
he handed over to Jimmy Young. For those who listen to Rutland Radio
on a Saturday they will hear a hand over from Robs show to Joseph and
that reminds me of the banter between Terry and Jimmy.

In the early 1980's before email and twitter my mum went into hospital for a operation
and Terry Wogan answered a letter I sent him at the BBC, Although he did not know my
mum it appeared he cared about his listeners as he mentioned her on his show and dedicated
a record to her smooth operator. some where my mum should still have the cassette recording
Back then personalities and celebrities were more people friendly I can remember also
taking my cassette recorder to the local garden center and asking Percy Thower to send
a message to her as she was a big fan of his gardening show which I did not watch
I only knew of him from the Blue Peter garden.
