Councillor Rory Palmer is a  Labour Leicester City Councillor for Eyres Monsell.
The ward includes the Eyres Monsell estate and part of the Saffron Lane estate (between Southfields Drive and Stonesby Avenue).

He deputised for the The Right Worshipful the Lord Mayor of Leicester, Councillor Robert Wann who was expected to open the Pride Event in Victoria Park.

It is understood he failed to find a free parking space?

The Festival Site is located Victoria Park, Leicester

The Festival site on Victoria Park is open to the public
from 12pm noon until 8pm

Adults and Children are welcome

The adult areas of the site are clearly 
marked and you must be 18 or over to
access these areas. 
If your lucky enough to look young
please have ID with you.

The Parade through the City starts at 12.00pm outside 
the Curve Theatre and will conclude at Victoria Park by
1.00pm.

Please do not consume alcohol during the parade,
no one wants to upset Leicester City Council or 
Leicestershire Constabulary.

The parade will conclude at 1.00pm 
at Victoria Park.


The events on the main stage start at 1.00pm

The official opening by Leicester City Councils Lord Mayor.

The Right Worshipful the Lord Mayor of Leicester, Councillor
Robert Wann who has been a Councillor for 25 years.

There is a full programme of exciting performances this includes:

Michael Hinch,  Adam Lyons and many more

at 6.00pm G* Mania
Stars from TV's biggest reality shows,
including the X Factor and Britains Got Talent.
Have been brought together for a
spectacular concert inspired by the
smash hit TV phenomenon Glee

Leicester Pride is back in 2011

The festival takes place on Saturday September 3rd with more live performances, dance music, market stalls and fairground rides than ever before.

Come and join us in celebrating Leicester's LGBT history & Culture, while supporting your local charities and raising awareness in the wider community.

The parade begins in the city centre at noon and this years theme is "Atlantis".

We will be holding a number of fund raiser nights across all the LGBT venues in Leicester, check the website and facebook pages for more information
