Oakham Town Council Extra Meeting 28th March 2018

Once again we have an extra meeting due to the incompetence of our chairman Cllr Haley and The Clerk

If they were not so busy bullying they would set agendas correctly in the first place

Also the wording of items on the agenda is misleading and applies the full council has agreed something.

5. CITIZENS ADVICE RUTLAND FUNDING 2017 – 2018

Agree to pay £2000 to Citizens Advice Rutland, as agreed in the 2017-18 budget

After a fight the council did agree to set aside £2000 in the 2017 - 2018 budget.
It does not mean the council has to pay it.
Despite a couple of reminders to the Citizens Advice they did not apply for the funding
there is no request attached to the agenda.

6. LITE Ltd

To authorise the following payment of £4520.00 + vat for the Christmas lighting 2017.

Original invoice was for £6520 less £2000 as agreed

The full council has not agreed to accept any reduction offered by Lite Ltd.
The Clerk does not have the authority to agree this type of thing on behalf of the
council. She could of course seek a reduction to put to full council and then it is
up to members to agree if they feel the reduction is enough for the poor service
received from the company. I don't think it is and won't be supporting the payment.

4. CO-OPTION

In view of the fact one member of the interview panel is no longer available, this is to appoint a fourth member for compliance of Standing Orders and to appoint a deputy to mitigate the risk if another member becomes unavailable

I put my name forward for this panel at the last meeting and was unable to remind the chairman that
we normally select a reserve person. Because as a member of the public reminded me this week he is a very rude chairman. The Chairman does not care how people see him, people often watch recordings of the meetings and approach me and tell me the Chairman is rude and has little if any chairmanship skills, I totally agree with that and meeting are dreadful as he is often rude to most
members and the clerk often fails to give correct advice if any at all.
Thank goodness his term in office of Chairman is coming to an end soon and I will be able
to tell him without his interruption at the Town Meeting which all members of the public can attend and have their say about the pointless town council. The Town Meeting is not a Council meeting so is not governed by the normal restrictive council rules.
Cllrs don't have to attend.
