Residents turn out for Oakham Town Council's meeting
last night and highlighted their objections to the location.
of the pole shown above, which Rutland County Council
has installed on Oakham Town Council's Playground without
consent. They also highlighted a lack of resident consultation from
the council.

Despite clear signage Rutland County Council claim
a member of its staff mistakenly thought the land
belonged to Rutland County Council.

Mr Hugh Crouch Rutland County Councillors Community
Safety Officer in his absence received a verbal bashing
led by Cllr Adam Lowe Oakham's Deputy Mayor.
He claimed Mr Crouch was maverick and it was time
he learnt he was not the chief constable of Rutland.
Mr Crouch was once a police employee and
Cllr Lowe was once a pretend Special or correctly known as
a Special constable.
Cllr Lowe also pointed out a previous incident involving
Mr Crouch relating which Mr Lowe Claimed lost
a council contractor money.

I added how I found Mr Crouch's telephone manner perhaps
a little abrupt and pointed out I did raise this with Mr Crouch
during a recent call by asking him if he was annoyed.
A resident also raised a similar concern.

The Town Council has not been properly consulted about
the installation of any of the new CCTV cameras popping
up all over Oakham.

A Rutland County Councillor pointed out to me this
week the mass introduction of new cameras was due
to decrease in police coverage here in Oakham.
There are now many times when no officers are present
here in Oakham.

The old CCTV was not working and has not for some
time and we were told last night the company who
installed that system less then five years ago is no
longer trading.

Oakham Town Council decided not to grant Rutland
County Council retrospective permission for the above
pole and will be asking Rutland County Council to
consult with resident about its future location and
and additional consultation regarding the rest of Oakham.
