built behind the old police station in 2015
When the old police station was sold to Oakham School a new office was built in the rear car park a public desk opened in Rutland County Councils reception that closed during the Covid lock down of 2019 and never re-opened. A new enquiry desk is open from 10am until 4pm, Monday to Friday. at the Station Road Police Office.
It was due to be officially opened by Mr Matthews, The Police and Crime Commissioner, The High Sheriff of Rutland, Geoff Thompson, and Chief Constable Rob Nixon. on Friday afternoon, this was cancelled due to the snow. Mr Matthews is hoping to arrange a new date possible in May 2023
If you need to visit you may see a familiar face at the front desk. Nicole Welsh who was one of Oakham's PCSO's for a number of years retired and took up the civilian role of manning the front desk at Melton Mowbray Police Station, She is transferring to Oakham.
