August Steaming Day at Rocks By Rail - The living Ironstone Museum

Sunday 17th August sees our 'third Sunday of the month' operating routine - With steam hauled passenger brake van rides on our main running line over the old Oakham canal, and also a quarry train shunting the quarry section with iron ore wagons being taken to the quarry face to be filled by our authentic diesel face shovel. Visitors can also watch our drag line stripping back the over burden in the 'digger playpen' so the quarry men can access the precious ore.

Also, our loco yard will be open for you to roam around, and our workshop will be open for visitors to watch our volunteers at work on the four locos currently housed in there.

The Sundew Café will be open for refreshments.
