Tesco the first zero-carbon store at Ramsey Cambridgeshire opened in 2010 by John Gummer MP
Opened in 2010 to be the first of many stores to help Tesco become carbon neutral by 2050
The store is powered by wind and solar and aerobic digestion systems to recover energy from waste food. I assume this comes in handy each time the fridges and freezers break down which I am told
mainly happens in the day time when people at work so they miss the massive price reductions.
Since Tesco first installed this wind turbine Ramsey's historic high street skyline
has been enhanced with the edition of a few more.
