Councillor Open Evening Rutland County Council

Councillor Open Evening

TickAnybody who is thinking of standing for election to Rutland County Council later this year is encouraged to attend an open evening to find out more about the role.

Elections are due to place at both county and town/parish level in May with 26 seats at Rutland County Council due to be contested.

Rutland County Council is holding an open evening on Monday 31 January at the Rutland County Council offices in Oakham between 6.00pm and 8.00pm.

The plan is to give an overview of what being a councillor actually involves.

There will also be a opportunity to speak to current members about how they incorporate being a councillor into their daily lives, and council officers will have more information on hand about the headline practical details of the election process.

The session is open to anybody thinking of becoming a Councillor.

For more information please contact Rutland County Council on 01572 722 577 or email enquiries@rutland.gov.uk

Former Oakham Town Councillor respectable?

Went into uni last week to collect more books but it just piles up. I haven't had time to type anything up.
I'm reading my notes and listening to some seminars I recorded, and it's far too much for an old man - it's a nightmare. ****** and... me are off to a piss-up in a brewery on Friday with a few of my ex army mates, including *****, so I don't think I'll be doing much studying over the weekend. We are driving down to Dorset on Friday with a couple of nights in a nice hotel and off to the Badger Brewery for a mates 60th birthday on Saturday. The daytime won't be sober either. It's not all bad though, I'll be pretty senceless on Monday when I have my shoulder injected to rid it of the pain, not that after the weekend it's likely to have any feeling in it anyway. When you asked about external reading, did you mean outside. It's been raining here and I thought the pages would get wet.See more

Lets hope the respectable ex Town Cllr and Former Mayor is not stopped by Dorset Police on his way back,
Drink Driving is not seen as respectable outside of Rutland.I would book a few extra days for the effect of the piss up to wear off. Is there ever a sober day between you and you bully mates!

What is respectable about visiting Dorset for a 24/7 piss up?
