Tesco Expansion
Tesco Oakham has let it be known it needs to expand its Oakham site.
I am concerned for the residents who live next to the store.
Tesco needs to consider the flood risk to these homes.
This was a major problem when the store was first built.
If they are to tarmac the remaining land, they own for car parking I hope they will consider the drainage problems.
I recently read an e-mail written by a Tesco employee who is concerned about the impact on the local small business community.
They suggest Tesco is responsible for the closure of so many local business, this is not true. most have gone because their leases have ended.
This is the same for the Art Shop and the Cook Shop who both share the same landlord.
Fortunately these are prime locations so I am sure like many other properties in the town they wont remain empty for long.
The writer also state the extension will cause further store closures.
