 Discover something BIG in
England's smallest county

Although Rutland County Museum is located in the smallest county in England there's nothing small about its superb collection,

The variety of our exhibits allows them to truthfully claim that there is something for everyone -whatever your age!

The museum building its self is part of Rutland's historic past.
The Riding School, where the main hall of the museum is housed, was built in1794-95 for the Rutland Fencible Cavalry. It was used until 1799 when the unit disbanded.

The museum now houses a new Local History Study Area.
learning about your area's local history?
why not use the fantastic local history area.
