Drink Driver Arrested in Church Street Oakham

Drink Driver arrested around 5pm today Church Street, Oakham , A respected local is stopped lets call him Dave common name a fits well with all the D's of Don't Drink and Drive.
The passenger obscured in this image was unhappy he now has to walk. He told officers off and said if these were local officers there would be no problem. I fear a few months ago he may have been correct. But Leicestershire Police has done the community a favour and shipped in a whole new team of offficers. Who are fair but firm. My own recent expereince of meeting PC Llloyd was what you should expect from an officer.

It is a pity we can not remove the political element from our Police and we may see greater improvement and of course a proper independant police complaint procedure for when things do go wrong.

In most parts of the country its a big taboo to drink and drive but here in Rutland it still is acceptable among a small group and should never be.

I am still waiting for Councillor Lucas to name her collegue who she claims always pops to the pub and drives home after meetings.

It would be terrible shame if that person killed some one.

The driver stopped this afternoon could have killed  a school child. Church Street is full that time off the day with Oakham School pupils. visiting Beans, Toots Sweets and Tesco.
