Planning appeal by Mr and Mrs S Illsley against the decision by Rutland County Council to refuse permission for the replacement of Collyweston slate roofing with Bradstone Conservation slate at Rutland House on High Street and Market Street has been dismissed by HM Planning Inspector.
I dismissing the appeal the Inspector stated that the use of imitation slate or blue welsh slate would not be sympathetic to the local vernacular and concluded, "I consider that the development would not preserve or enhance the character or appearance of Oakham Conservation Area"
