Rutland County Council, Approves 125 Stamford Homes, Cold Overton Road, Oakham, Rutland
125 New Homes will be built on the former Catmose College Site.
It was interesting the Puffin nursery, run by the college was not relocated to the new site. As there seems to be issues with access and parking.
The nursery put in a last minute objection, saying homes being built were over looking their play area.
It was pointed out by one of the paid officers Stamford Homes noise level monitoring tests were inadequate.
Some issues still have to be addressed. It appears new home owners could complain about noise from Rutland Plastics and the council would have to act upon those complaints and it could effect the 24hr operation of the company. All Councillors were unhappy with this.
The level of affordable housing has reduced.
Councillor Mr Richard J Gale (Independent) - OAKHAM NORTH WEST WARD who was chairing the meeting said he was concerned the Council appeared to ignore the feelings of members and The Town Council.
Despite concerns the application was approved.
