The (National) Health Lottery

Until  The Health Lottery was launched, I had always linked this to thoughts of the National Health Lottery or Post Code Lottery often mentioned when the NHS is referred to in the news.

Reading about the New 'The Health Lottery' it looks like only a small part of the countries health services will benefit from this lottery and a lot of small local lotteries fear they will lose out.

So many good causes encouraging gambling in difficult times. Recently I met a person from the Heritage Lottery, I was told difficult times are sadly good for the National Lottery Ticket Sales, sales rise and the pot of cash they have to distribute is even bigger. Despite this they don't seem to make it easy for good causes to claim. One example recently the closing date arrived for lottery applications from villages to claim a grant, sounds good until you read the small print and the village must have over 3000 residents. which ruled out most of my local villages.
