Rutland County Council Increase Security After Lead Theft

Rutland County Council Increase Security after the Lead Theft. Earlier this year £20,000 of lead was stolen from the roof of the council chamber. This has now been replaced. additional extra security has been installed. The lead has been coated with a  forensic grease.

I hoping for the benefit of the residents the temporary fencing will be replaced with something higher to reduce the risk of false alarms. Residents already have to put up with the false alarms which are frequent from the main building.

The new external system is very easy to trip.  I use these same sensors at my home and they don't like cats jumping over the fence, so imagine the local fox may have fun here!  fortunately my perimeter alarm only triggers my CCTV.

It is a pity a theft has now closed a small part of the arboretum that was always open to the public.

If the lead thieves return the council is hoping the villains can read all the new signs.
