Leicestershire Fire & Rescue Service Oakham Fire Station Public Consultation
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue opened the doors at Oakham Fire Station, so the public could view its
proposed plans for expansion on Saturday.
I had an interesting chat and found the future plans for Oakham if approved appear to secure the future presence of a Fire Station here in Oakham, although it is felt by the service they don't need one here it remains because we are the county town of Rutland and it proximity to the A1 helps. Two thirds of all the call outs now relate to road traffic accidents in the area.
The proposed new staffing of the station with watches living in, is turning the clocks back in time and this will improve the fire services response time.
