Red White & Blue, Olympic Torch, Diamond Jubilee, Oakham Town Council
Tonight Oakham Town Council approved spending £700 on purchasing bunting
for the above events.
There was some confusion over the normal colours of the town bunting which has now
been scrapped because its tatty.
The Deputy Mayor Charles Haworth thought it was yellow.
The Mayor Joyce Lucas corrected him by saying it is blue and gold just like Queen
Elizabeth's racing colours she told me so.
After some debate all Councillors agreed £700 could be spent on purchasing Red White and Blue
bunting, lets hope Scotland has not left the union by the time they get around to deciding to approve
who is going to be paid to put it up and take it down.
