Cllr Alan Walters has given notice that he intends to ask the
following question, at tonight's full council meeting: 7.00pm
“Given the recent news that the manufacturer Markon Sawafuji is closing
in Oakham with the loss of around 31 jobs, could the portfolio holder
please detail what exactly Rutland County Council has done in the last 12
months in practical terms to attract new businesses to the county, what
precisely is being done now, and what particular attributes of the county
he believes should be promoted to attract new employers?”
I am assuming the answer is very little, as we all know Hawksmead is stuck with designated employment land and it looks like that is not going to change for some time.
