Leicestershire Constabulary Response to Chief Constables Simon Coles Tweets

Regular readers of will know I received inappropriate tweet, from the Chief Constable of Leicestershire Constabulary Simon Cole.

I raised my concern with Leicestershire Constabulary Professional Standards Department.

I received the above response.

Dear Mr Brookes

I acknowledge your letter received on 23rd January and note its contents.

I have made some enquiries regarding the Twitter account of  Chief  Constable Simon Cole and,
in particular, inappropriate links on that account on or around 17th January. I can confirm that
our Corporate Communications team were aware of this matter and ensured immediate
response. The cause of the inappropriate links was apparently some form of spam message that
had also affected other Twitter users. As such the matter was outside the control of the Chief
Constable.

Please find enclosed a leaflet produced by the Independent Police Complaints Commission
(IPCC). This provides you with a right to appeal where a complaint has not been recorded
in respect of conduct of police staff. This right of appeal is contained within this leaflet for
your information.

I do appreciate you drawing this matter to our attention.

Yours sincerely

Kevin Yate

"Improving Confidence Through Raising Standards"

One thing I have noticed Leicestershire always express their appreciation when any one raising a complaint,
unlike a shop they don't enclose a gift voucher, to restore their customers confidence. You would think they would include a £10 E-bay voucher so I could buy something nice from there on-line store!!
