Baillie Duo Sat 13 April 8pm Tickets: £16 (£15) Alexander Baillie - cello Max Baillie - violin A programme to include: Mozart Duos, Bach 2 part Inventions, Kodaly Duo, Martinu Distinguished cellist Alexander Baillie is no stranger to Stamford - he first appeared at the Arts Centre in 1980, establishing a faithful following during many subsequent visits. He began playing the cello at the age of twelve having been directly inspired by Jacqueline du PrĂ©. He went on to study at London's Royal College of Music and with AndrĂ© Navarra in Vienna. He will be well remembered for his solo cello renditions of Schnittke Cello Sonatas. For this eagerly awaited concert Alexander is joined by his son Max, a talented violinist and teacher who treated a full Ballroom to a stunning lunchtime concert in 2005 when he was joined by Rowena Calvert and Eleanor Turner. |
