Cottesmore Hunt, Boxing Day, Photographs 2012 and Disappointment, Oakham, Rutland

With crowds bigger than ever, many who lined the traditional route saw very little of the hunt setting off as they changed their route and headed for the centre of town.

One member of the public became ill  and a member of the new voluntary community response in a old car.
A East Midlands Ambulance had not arrived some one hour later, I wonder how many patients will die when East Midlands Ambulance Service closes Oakham Ambulance Station that already appears to be closed at
weekends and  holidays. I guess the days have gone when we can all dial 999 and expect a ambulance and
a full team of qualified personnel to turn out.

Cottesmore Hunt, Oakham Boxing Day, Request Permission from Oakham Town Council

At this Wednesday's Planning Parks meeting 7.30pm Councillors will consider a request from the Cottesmore Hunt, to use Cutts Close, Oakham on  Boxing Day, After last years event Oakham Town Councillor then Mayor Joyce Lucas said the hunt should be banned form using the park, because the hunt boy did not clean up poo left by the animal and described how she had seen huge piles of the stuff
walking in the park the next day.

I don't think the event should be banned, but I don't see why the Oakham tax payer should pay to clean up mess, at load of toff's on horses from a nearby village have a bit of fun here in Oakham

Oakham Town Council Parks Meeting Wednesday 28th September 2011 Cottesmore Hunt

Next Wednesday Councillors will be asked to consider the following request from the Cottesmore Hunt.

Subject: Boxing Day.

Dear Richard
I hope you are well, Here we are again - heading inexorably towards Christmas!
Again I am writing to ask permission of the Town Council for the Cottesmore Hunt to meet in Cutts
Close for their traditional boxing Day Meet on Monday 26th December at 11.00am
We are hoping for more favourable weather this year -skating around the park on my horse was very
unnerving!
Kind regards
Claire Bell
Secretary - Cottesmore Hunt

This year I will be voting against approval not because I don't like the Cottesmore Hunt, purely because it is political and the same reason Oakham Town Council turned down the use of the park when requested by The Save Cottesmore Group. Most Councillors labelled  that political that event political so it did not go ahead.
I have watched and photographed the Cottesmore Hunt in Cutts Close listened to the speeches and seen the past t-shirts printed bollocks to Blair

Another reason is I turned on Big Brother on Five and saw Harry that is most certainly a reason not to support the event.
