Will There Be A Christmas Tree This Year? Rotary Ask Oakham Town Council For Cash To Buy Tree

Will There Be A Christmas Tree This Year?
Rotary Ask Oakham Town Council For Cash To Buy Tree

For Thirty Years The Rotary Club of Rutland has gifted the town a Fine Christmas Tree.

then the town council has poorly decorated it.

It appears in the past the Rotary has relied on a generous donor to present this gift
to the town.

The Donor is now not willing or can't continue to make this donation. As the Town
Clerk said he thinks the tree comes from ******* I won't publish that information in case it's wrong.

The Rotary  has helped some very good local causes over the
years and this year it has provided funds for Young Musician of The Year, Created the Park School
Garden and supported the Air Ambulance.

And it has made many grants form its charity fund.

The Rotary Club says it lack funds this year and can not use its remaining funds for non-charitable
purposes.

They will be asking the Town Council for cash at this Wednesday's meeting so they can buy a tree
and gift it to the town.

I am a big believer in cutting out the middle man to save money and suggest the Town Council sources its own tree and decorates it properly.

I am sure they could find sponsor and I do hope they don't buy a shopping centre thing like Stamford
