Oakham Town Councillor, Stan Stubbs, How many more fibs? or mistakes? is he going to make, before his first meeting

Oakham Town Councillor, Stan Stubbs, How many more fibs or mistakes is he going to make, before his first meeting.

As a very close neighbour of our Town Clerk, I am sure he is going to fit in nicely on our town council.

"He hopes his previous experience of being chairman of a Parish Council and serving on County Council grants committees will help his work on the town council.

Above Taken from Oakham Town Council website 6th Sepember 2013

Cllr Stan Stubbs also told voters via the Rutland Times he was a Wiltshire County Councillor.

I have now received a full reply from the Parish Clerk of  Wiltshire Parish Council, which Cllr
Stubbs resigned from under a cloud.

Dear Martin

Thank you for this and just writing now with a follow up/in full reply – I have checked with a Unitary Councillor on the Amesbury Area Board at Wiltshire Council and can confirm in reply to your first query that Mr Stan Stubbs was not a Wiltshire County Councillor and secondly that Mr Stan Stubbs served as an advisor on the grants committee of the Amesbury Area Board which is part of Wiltshire Council.

I hope that the above answers your queries.

Kind regards

Melanie

Oakham Town Councillor, Stan Stubbs, told us days before the election via Rutland Times he had previously been an Wiltshire County Councillor?

Newly elected Oakham Town Councillor Stan Stubbs told us days before the election he had previously been an Wiltshire County Councillor.
I could find no record of this, so I contacted the Wiltshire County Council to find they don't have any records or recollection of him ever being a County Councillor.
I contacted the parish council he suddenly resigned from after causing a big stink  with the county council. That time his conduct had clearly caused his Tory friends a problem and they could hardly give him a slap on the wrist like they did previously when the standards committee found him guilty of using his position for personal gain.
The Clerk replied wanting to know if I am press?
Stan Stubbs was chairman of Newton Tony Parish Council and was Chair of the local Bourne Valley Alliance he resigned both under a cloud.
Stan Stubbs was an independent member of the Northern Area SWAG grant review panel.

I have checked with Elections and within the team and unfortunately we can’t recall a Cllr Stubbs on Wiltshire County Council.

Stan Stubbs, Oakham Town Council, Election Leaflet, Rutland County Council Democratic Services

Stan Stubbs, Oakham Town Council, Election Leaflet

This morning I received a copy of Stan Stubbs A5 double sided glossy election leaflet through the post
from ? Thanks interesting post mark, oh if I hold the letter to light I can see the previous print out, Ink jets! (my home was missed out)

I am told the leaflet was distributed to the entire OSE Ward.

Mr Stubbs has refused to answer questions about the leaflet drop?

Mr Stubbs must have commanded a great deal from the printers
to keep within the legally permitted expenditure budget.

When the Town Council use them they don't seem that cheap.

Any saving must have been lost, as it appears he had to print a sticker to partially
comply with election publication laws, I say partial because the law requires the
information published on the sticker  to appear on both sides of any publication.

Interesting or not, the leaflet also shows a different amount of months Mr Stubbs has
resided in Oakham, different from information he gave the local paper.

I raised some issues relating to the leaflet with the chairman of the council.
He asked if someone else paid for the leaflet would Stan have to declare it
as an election expense?

Of course he would and it would be interesting to know if someone did, I look
forward to seeing who his donor was on his Electoral Commission Return.

It is a big rumour that the once Tory Councillor was backed by a Tory so his
Independent claim could be a little bit dubious.

And I hope no council paper was used for his own personal gain? Sorry could not resist
bringing that one up again.....

Oakham Town Council, Election, OSE, Candidates, Martin Brookes, Leanne Martin, Stan Stubbs

Oakham Town Council, Election, OSE, Candidates, Martin Brookes, Leanne Martin, Stan Stubbs

So the rumour was true Oakham Town Council found two candidates to stand against me.

Interesting both candidate live in wards where no one called for an election. it is a pity no one
seems to be able to get of their bums and go out and meet the people and collect signatures
to call for an election.

It is further rumoured these candidates have been told what ever the outcome they will be co-opted.

Mr Stubbs lives almost nest door to the Town Clerk he only moved in last year after buying a house
I have visited many times in the past. I fitted and tiled the kitchen.

Leanne Emma  is not know to me but according to her facebook profile she does not like the NHS
so if elected or co-opted she should get on fine with the deputy Mayor who is employed by the NHS.
