Acholi Bead Crafts, Uganda, Rutland Day, Rutland Water, Photographed

Acholi Bead Crafts, Uganda, Rutland Day, Rutland Water, Photographed

this lady was selling rubbish, well not really just some lovely things made from recycled rubbish.

Made by Alcholi woman in Unganda Africa.

These woman were forced to leave their homes in Northern Uganda due to atrocities committed
against them in a 20 year long war.

The woman are mainly single mothers, many HIV-positive.

Most of them work crushing stones in a quarry,
earning barely enough to feed and clothe their families.
leaving nothing for school fees,

One alternative to this dangerous work is to make and
sell these beads.

Uganda pushes for the death penalty

The Ungandan goverment is considering send all its gay people to prison or even killing them.
It makes me feel Oakham is not so bad!

The African state feels being gay is a crime and wants to imprison anyone found guilty of such a crime and says anyone convicted who has HIV would be automatically sentenced to death penalty.

The UK's International Development Minister, our MP rAlan Duncan, said the government would be making urgent  representations.

Is that before after his visit?

I would not go!
