Only 364 Sleeps to Christmas

Oakham Boxing Day Tesco Oakham

Tesco Oakham was closed Boxing Day, it was interesting watching people turning up to forage for food.
Despite the throng of people stripping the shelves bare until 7pm Christmas Eve, it would seem a lot of people were going hungry in Rutland this boxing day.

With the store closed and the car park empty I could see the shoddy state of the grounds. trolley ports repaired with parcel tape and litter in every flower bed and shrub the car park strewn with litter.

People blame Tesco and the other big four, when it comes to environmental pollution, I can't work out who is to blame but it is a disgrace. From the photograph above you can see Tesco attempts to recycle but just look at the old litter on the ground. The whole site replicates this, as the store expands in 2011 will it get worse?

In Peterborough there is a large distribution centre for a major supermarket and every tree along the road is covered in plastic litter.
