Oakham TOWN COUNCIL ELECTION North West Ward



RESIGNATION AND NOTICE OF VACANCY



Martin Brookes resigned as a Town Councillor for Oakham North West Ward on the 8th July 2010.


The Notice of Vacancy has now been published and is available to view in the Town Council notice boards outside the Victoria Hall, outside the Library and on Gaol Street. If at least 10 electors from the Oakham North West Ward request an election before August 9th 2010 then an election will be held. This request must be made in writing to the Returning Officer at Rutland County Council before that date. If an election is not called then the Town Council will be given permission to co-opt a new Councillor.

displaying it in prominent positions around the Parish by no later than the date shown on the Notice.
I do not intend to place the Notice in the local press at this stage unless you specifically request
this to happen. Any costs in advertising the vacancy in the press would be borne by the Parish
Council.

IN OFFICE OF COUNCILLOR


NORTH WEST WARD - OAKHAM TOWN COUNCIL


NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN

pursuant to section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972, that

following the RESIGNATION OF MR M J BROOKES a vacancy now exists

in the office of Councillor for the said Town Council.

If by 9th August 2010 (14 days¤ after the date of this notice), a request

for an election to fill the said vacancy is made in writing to the Returning

Officer at Catmose, Oakham, Rutland, LE15 6HP by TEN electors for the

said Town Council, an election will be held to fill the said vacancy,

otherwise the vacancy will be filled by co-option.

If an election is requested, it will take place no later than 7th October

2010.

Easter break or of a bank holiday or day appointed for public thanksgiving or mourning must be
