My Councillor, disgraced Special Constable, Adam Lowe Rutland County Museum Police Charity & The Rutland Times

I was surprised to read today, the Rutland Times published a story relating to my Town Councillor Adam Lowe and his reason given for his resignation from Leicestershire Constabulary.

Mr Lowe, who is also an Oakham town councillor, said he decided to resign as a special constable because he was dedicating up to 50 hours a month to the role and wanted to spend more time with his family.

Why does the Rutland Times keep giving this egotist man who harassed me, along with others the paper knows very well publicity, I don't know?

I also think its disgraceful that they give publicity to this man turning his back on a police charity.

Mr Lowe, who is the branch manager of Travis Perkins in Station Approach, Oakham, said: “When I first had the pin badges made, I had to get permission from the assistant chief constable of Leicestershire Police who asked that I donate any profits to a police charity.

The pin badges were made with the consent of Leicestershire Constabulary the copyright owners of the force badge, permission clearly given to assist a police charity.

Commercial organisations would use the services of a solicitor to protect their rights. In this case I would assume Leicestershire Constabulary chose to trust one of their own.

So why is Rutland County Council now happy to be profiting from the sale of these badges to fund their museum? Surely this is theft from a police charity?

"The badges are on sale for £2 and are rare as Mr Lowe only had 1,000 made."

I would hope Rutland County Council would reconsider its acceptance of this donation and pay Leicestershire Constabularies Charity for the Pin Badges
