Despite Oakham Town Council passing a resolution to refurbish the Princess Avenue property and place on the property on the open market.
The council has ignored my requests to find out why they have ignored their legally binding resolution.
A new tenant was agreed behind closed doors.
The tax payer is picking up the tab for the complete renovation of the property for a commercial tenant.
It will will be over 6 years before the council recoups the costs which includes £42,000 for the refurbishment.
It was reported at last nights council meeting the lease had been agreed for a period of five years.
If the tenant decides to leave at the end of the period the tax payer will not have recovered its costs of
assisting this commercial enterprise.
Is this what the local tax expects it money to be spent on?
There will be no free membership for the tax payers.
