Cllr Jayne Woodcock Blamed for Oakham Town Councils unauthorised spending by Cllr Alf Dewis
Tonight Oakham Mayor Cllr Alf Dewis, held an informal meeting for councillors
to discuss the way forward for the council.
It started pretty horrendously. Cllr Alf Dewis putting me in the spotlight,
At one stage a Councillor even threatened to resign if the situation at the meeting
did not improve.
Cllr Blanksby unfortunately summed up the councils major problem.
They don't like rules or laws "we don't need you pointing out when we are not following the
rules, we don't have to following them to the letter, we are not parliament" unfortunately
for Oakham Town Council the rules are often the law and laws can not and should not be bent.
I wonder if they have heard of Dame Shirley Porter?
Then rather bravely Cllr Dewis blamed the former Mayor Cllr Jayne Woodcock for
recent unauthorised council expenditure highlight in the current internal auditor's report.
I have emailed Mrs Woodcock to tell her because some how I have my doubts.
So looking forward tomorrows formal meeting and the next four years.
