A very frugal Christmas Tree, I wonder if they can
afford the electric. One of my friends works in finance
he chucks lights on his pot plant also.

and good point to deposit your old
batteries for recycling.
Oakham Christmas Tree we were told that Furleys would decorate it.
Once again its only decorated half way from the top, just in case
some fool vandalises it and is electrocuted. It looks silly at night
so why bother that's why I have not photographed it at night.

Anyway thanks to Rutland Lions Rotary for gifting the tree to the town.

Rutland County Council The Grit is Plentiful

Rutland County Council The Grit is Plentiful
Here in Oakham Rutland Contractors battle to beat the big freeze.
Vale have been out this morning spreading the grit over Oakhams
Roads, This picture may be the envy if they are still stuck in any Leicestershire
or Rutland village.  A farmer from Cold Overton who was on BBC East Midlands News
was very annoyed people could not visit his farm shop because gritters pass by
along the main roads.

This is the first time I have ever seen this cul-de-sac gritted.

The large gritter has also passed by a few times it makes me feel a bit more comfortable as I don't have to see the bus sliding around the bend.

Of course the snow clearly shows the bus drivers can not drive along roads and find it more convenient to drive along the pavement.

The reason why I say they cant drive is because large lorries delivering to the School and Shop manage to keep to the road.
