Hippos in Rutland
Tonight Arts4Rutland will be celebrating
Receiving £100,000 of tax payers money, from the Arts Council.
They will also be celebrating delivery of the plastic hippos purchased with some of this money.
The evening of celebration is to be held at the Great Hall @ Oakham Castle.
Drinks, Nibbles and music all free to the invited.
I certainly wont be drinking the tax payers money.
I thought they had already celebrated with the drinks and trip to Curve in Leicester last year?
Well, Rutland would not be Rutland without a good piss up for its dignitaries.....

TROY card and Gifts Oakham
Troy already for Easter,
a small shop with a big choice is ready for Easter
Troy was not looking so pretty Sunday morning.
Late night drinker deposits wine bottle through shop window @ 4.00 am
Next time I think the bottle bank at Tesco would be a better depository.

Oakham Bandstand
This morning I collected a tile sample from the bandstand.
I took the tile to a major building supplier.
To my surprise, I have secured a quote for what is a universal tile, still made by Marley in a variety of colours including the colour of the bandstand sample.
Members will remember the Town Clerk Reporting this tile was no longer manufactured.
A different more expensive tile would be used and the roof structure would need to be destroyed and rebuilt.
The destruction of the roof is not needed and the cost is frankly far to high.
At the meeting one member said this project had been Railroaded! and another told me the same in private.
The Town Clerk has said the members allegation will not be included in the minutes.
It is my belief a vote was passed based upon incorrect information.
The £30,000 project is a huge waste of public money.
I request the council stop work so a full investigation can be carried out.

Oakham Bandstand £30,000 Restoration
I have been following the works this week on the bandstand.
I am very concerned the public is being asked to pay such a large sum of money for work that is not required.
After the tiles were remove it is very clear the structure is very sound and not rotten. I have watched perfectly good timber become scrap.
I have requested the council considers halting the work and seek professional advice.

Hello all! Just a very quick email to remind you about tonight's show if you're free and fancy a lovely, intimate evening of exceptional live music in a very friendly and welcoming little acoustic club hidden away in the wolds of North Lincolnshire. So come along and pay on the door and I'll guarantee it'll be way more entertaining (and thought- provoking) than anything you'll see on the telly tonight!

If you haven't been to one of my concerts in a while, now is a great time to try it! I'll be writing a new album in the summer, so my gigs will be much less frequent and also closer to home.
