Cllr Mrs Jayne Woodcock of Oakham Town council is proposing
To name the Bandstand in Cutts Close
“HM Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Bandstand”
Councillors will decide at next Wednesdays meeting.
I am sure the Queen will be thrilled if she is honoured in this way.
The council spent a huge sum of money (overspent £30,000) on
refurbishing the bandstand.
It was a great pity the contractor dumped? the thousands of pounds
of timber purchased to enclose the bandstand whilst restoration
work was completed.
