Oakham Town Council, 31st January 2014, Summary of Reciepts, HSBC, Apendixes, Rutland Youth Council

Since 2011 it has been a legal requirement for all Councils to publish
Apendixes online, the law does not apply to Oakham Town Council
The Council also fails to provide them at meetings so often you hear
the Chairman say, you have all seen the members report and members
of the public sit looking puzzled as to what the Councillors have approved.

I am sure this noted on the laptop belonging to the Rutland Youth Council
members who now attend and make deputation at the meetings.

Summary of Receipts 31st January 2014

Receipts and Payments compared with Flexed Budget

Flexed budget at Oakham Town Council means we make up a budget each
year and change it as we go along because we don't have a strategy.

HSBC Recent Transactions

Bank Reconcilliation at 31/01/2014

Uncashed payments upto 31/01/2014

It surprises me how long it takes the British Legion Charity to bank a cheque
sent to them on the 4th November 2013 for the Mayors Poppy Wreath.

Also the fee for Oakham Town Councils Domain name seems a bit high.

it is always good to look up in Leicester HSBC

it is always good to look up in Leicester

Can be seen on the Old HSBC bank Leicester it appear this building is up for sale it has super stained glass windows and fixtures. I hope whoever buys this huge property wont change it to much.

Homeless people have broken the front gate so I could see into the banking hall and take a few snaps to follow.

A old Bank of Scotland has been gutted and the interior is receiving a rather boring make over, a few curves here and there but mostly plain smooth plaster covers all.

HSBC Bank Peterborough
Santander has branded a lot of banks in Peterborough
I am wonder how long before they start closing
branches. It reminds me of when Lloyds TSB merged and
for a while they often had branches next to each other.

Oakham Town Council Banking

Banking arrangement have changed at Oakham Town Council ahead of the laws changing next year.

Currently two councillors are required to sign cheques.

Oakham Town Council has switched accounts and now earn a little more intrest.

The Clerk can now make online payments up to £10,000.

The chairman of the Council said safeguards will be put into place and the clerk would not just hit a button when invoices arrive.

I am not sure what safeguards can be put in place if the log in details were lost a considrable amount of money could be lost.
